About
Left brain: management, information technology, strategy, fundraising, events, fixing the remote, and other challenges to creative living.
Right brain: writing, music, design, puzzles, noodling, daydreaming, lollygagging, cocktails, parties, living as a Texan even in exile, and other delights of creative living.
After many years of hunting and gathering skills in information technology and fundraising through work at institutions such as Harvard University, Wellesley College, and Boston College, I focused on creative writing, supporting the arts through music management, and spurring the cross-pollination of ideas from various disciplines and even industries to create novel and successful endeavors. In 2008 I founded Brenda Prescott Coordinates LLC, a creative management company that consults primarily with professional musicians and visionary non-profit leaders.
I’ve written a novel (unpublished), have placed several pieces of short fiction in publications such as The Louisville Review and Portland Magazine, and am a member of Simply Not Done, a writing collaborative. I hold a MFA in creative writing from the Stonecoast low-residency program at the University of Southern Maine and an AB, magna cum laude, in Afro-American studies and sociology from Harvard University.
